Arc GLOW Day Habilitation provides services to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) at nine locations throughout the four-county GLOW region.
Through a person-centered approach, and provision of on-site and/or a variety of exciting community-based service arenas, Day Habilitation services will facilitate individuals to develop and achieve personal outcomes through:
- Identifying personal needs and strengths
- Building on personal strengths
- Fostering desired and healthy relationships
- Training and empowerment to make personal choices and self-advocate
- Fostering a sense of community involvement through active participation and volunteerism
- Increasing knowledge of productive opportunities, including employment
The overall goal is to increase a sense of belonging to, and enjoyment of one’s own community!

Types of Day Habilitation
Site-Based
At an Arc location. Day Habilitation includes an array of classes and experiences that are offered both on–site and off-site in the community with support staff. Goals are derived from each individual’s Person-Centered Plan.

Without Walls/WOW
WOW reflects day habilitation programs that stress an individualized schedule made up entirely of community-based experiences, with goals derived from the Person-Centered Plan. Daily activities and services reflect the choices made by each person. WOW begins each day at a Day Habilitation facility or at a location in the community, where a support staff meets them, and continues with active participation in the community.

Eligibility
Candidates for Day Habilitation services must be authorized for services by the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and enrolled in the Home and Community Based Services Medicaid Waiver.
